Sun night about 9:30 Levi informed me that he wanted me to sew him about 5 or 6 stuffed hearts so I told him that wouldn't be a problem, I'd do it tomorrow night. I came home Monday night and showed him the material that I had & he picked out 2 colors and then said can you make 12? I said sure that will be fine so I started sewing & finished them around 9:00. When I took them to his room he said can you make some felt ones too? LOL I said yes, how many he said I don't know maybe 12. I said what in the world happened to making 5 or 6 of these things? He said I don't know thought maybe it would be nice to give one to everybody. I started going through my stash to see if I had enough felt and since he didn't care what colors as long as they were pink, reds or purples I was able to find scraps to use. I made 8 before it was time to go to bed so I told him I'd finish the rest tomorrow night. Well Tuesday afternoon he said there was 28 kids in his class so guess what I cut, stuffed & sewed a total of 28 hearts. It really wasn't that bad and I fell in love with the felt ones. I'm thinking that I'm going to make some to help decorate the house on Valentine's Day.

Bargain
I ran into Kroger quickly just to get a bag of Hershey's kisses for Levi's school project and as soon as I walked in there was a "manager's sale" table. I stopped to see what all was on it and there was Pantene conditioner & I thought I "needed" it was on sale for $1.50. I was pretty sure that I had coupons in my truck so I paid for the Hershey's and decided I would run out to my truck see if I had coupons. I found 4 coupons for $1 off wyb 2 so I pulled them out as well as a Dove soap coupon because there was a 6 pk on the table on sale for $2.25. I was so happy to walk out of Kroger for the 2nd time within less than 10 minutes with 4 Pantene conditioners & 1 6 pk of Dove soap for $4 + change. :)

Nikki's 21st Birthday
It's so hard to believe that she's already 21 but I'm so excited about the woman she has become. She is a wonderful mother and wife. I'm so happy that we have the close relationship that we do.

Easy gift
This was one of the easiest gifts that I've ever put together without spending a ton of money. Thankfully using the coupons I had everything on hand except for the basket and it was $4. I believe I had like $10-$12 worth of contents in the basket. Since Jessica was graduating nursing school she decided that she's moving out and while I wanted to get her a little something. I talked to Angie & ask if she was picky about any of these items and she said no she doesn't care about brands. Jessica was so excited to get it because she said it would save her some money :)

Early riser
Levi has to be at the park every Mon, Wed & Fri by 5:30 so my friend Michelle & I decided that we are going to take a few laps around her subdivision bright & early. This morning was wonderful! It was still dark when we first started walking but then before we were finished the sun began to rise and the peacefulness was amazing. Starting out the morning by walking 2 miles has just made this day even better :) I just need to remember on Friday to make sure I wear some different socks because those "no show" ones caused blisters on my ankles lol I'm so blessed to have someone who will start their morning off with a brisk stroll through the neighborhood lol I hope that we can continue to motivate each other to get up and get moving :)

JJ & Jake's birthday
We certainly enjoyed being with everyone yesterday while celebrating both boys birthdays, hard to believe that these kids are growing up so fast. August & Sept is such a busy month for birthdays in Michael's family but we always enjoy being together. We are so happy to have the boys back home from OH. I told JJ yesterday that even though we don't see them every week it's nice to know they are "home" and they are able to come to all our family get togethers. We certainly miss having them around all summer and thankful that they won't be going back next year or we hope they don't.
JJ counting his money :)
Both boys blowing out their candles.

Day of Shopping
If you know me very well you know that I absolutely hate shopping most days, however today was one of those days that I actually enjoyed it. Not only did we do some back to school shopping but it was also tax free weekend so we were able to pick up a few extra things. Michael is going out of town on a business trip for a week and has to have some khaki's & polo shirts we were excited to find the polos at Academy for 4.88. Levi got school shoes & running shoes & Triston got school shoes.
Thankfully we didn't have to buy a ton of school supplies this year because I had most of what they needed in my stash of supplies that I got on sale last year, of course, Michael decided that he wanted a movie.
This was our best score for the day though, we found 3 pair of khaki's & 2 pair of work pants for Michael at Goodwill for only 15.00 because not only was it tax free it was also everything in the store 1/2 off. The Dickie pants were just like new and since he's only going to get them greasy we were really excited to find them, especially when we only paid 3.00 for each one.
Michael just had to buy him some tools today lol but they were on sale so that made it all ok :)
My trip to Joann's just a few things but my most important was the double needle that I've been wanting to try it out so hopefully I'll find some time to use it next week.
I've not had any new tennis shoes in about 8 years so I was most excited to find these on sales for 34.99 and I had a 10.00 gc that Sears gave us the last time we were in there so that brought my running shoes down to 24.00 tax free :) I told Michael that it certainly doesn't take much to make me happy.

First day of school
Hard to believe that both our boys are now in high school, where in the world has the last few years gone? Levi had a cross country meet at 5:15 so he wasn't thrilled about getting his pic made at 5:00 in the morning lol Obviously he changed clothes after his meet because I know he wouldn't wear these to school.
Triston well he's not ever thrilled about getting his picture made because he says I have enough pics of them lol
Are you ready for some Football?
We sure are and tonight we are going to East Robertson for Triston's first high school scrimmage. It's still way too hot to be playing but we are so excited about it. Football is my favorite sport and watching Triston makes it even better. We are not sure how much playing time he will actually get since he's a freshman but one can hope to see him step on the field and do what "our" quarterback does best :) I can say that I am a little terrified that my very young 14 year old will be on a field with 18 year olds but he's got some great guys to help block him. He said he wasn't scared about it so I shouldn't be either lol I'm hoping to get at least a pic of him standing on the sidelines tonight so we'll see how that pans out.
Well it was a great night on the football field last night. The score ended up being 21 - 17 our favor :) When the varsity was playing E Robertson was trying to start fights, pushing our boys around after the plays were finished so we were very thankful our boys weren't out there. After the Varsity team finished they put the JV players on the field so we were hoping that their varsity wouldn't be starting fights with our boys lol Tate 6 made a couple of tackles and we were very proud of him for that because he was smaller than the guys he was able to tackle. Triston well he did a great job making us so proud of him! He threw several very pretty balls down the field but the guys that was supposed to catch didn't. When it was over Coach Henson walked up to us & said Triston's eyes were big as saucers when they told him to come on the field. I can imagine he was probably terrified but you surely couldn't tell it. Coach Stacey walked up and said he was very proud of Triston and thought he did a great job. Well you know that just made Michael's head swell :) We are so proud of him being a freshman and getting some playing time on the first scrimmage of the season.

For Girls Only Project
My friend Christy sent me this blog post http://www.thefarmerswifetellsall.com/2011/07/girls-only-project.html a couple of weeks ago. I was so excited to get with my friends and ask for help. Michelle & I were able to sew 18 pads, Diane & Ida brought 6 bras & 5 panties so our little box is packed very tightly. I found some deodorant & soap on sale at Walgreens so I threw those in the box too. It simply amazes me at the kindness that I always recieve when I tell these girls about any projects that is going on, they are always willing to pitch in and help.
