Tuelle bows

So someone brought me tuelle yesterday & ask that I make 8 bows for a wedding shower they are throwing so I whipped these up this morning before work. They are super easy to make & I really loved this color, it was like a silver/greyish color.

Easter with my family

My heart was so full this weekend, having both my boys show up at both our family get togethers & didn't mind taking pictures. I love the fact that even though they are older they also know how much these times & pics are something that I really cherish.

Ricky

So little Ricky is really growing & he thinks he's a dog, he walks right beside us just like the dogs do when we let him out of his pen. He's a cry baby for sure when he sees us go outside & he still loves his bottle. He's now 6 weeks old & we've got to feed him the bottle until he's at least 10 weeks but I'm guessing I will feed him even longer. He's my sweet little baby.

 

Feeders

So we've gotten several little projects accomplished on our chicken coop so when I found a way to feed them without going inside there on Pinterest I showed it to Michael. He said yeh, that would be great, it will also save the boys from feeding while we are out of town too. They will still have to check eggs but they won't run out of food lol

Michael decided this was the best way to do it to try to keep out any rain for getting in there & ruining the food.

These really held a lot of food & we are thinking we may add another one later to put treats in it.

 

New Ducks

I went to TSC at lunch today & saw these little cuties. I called Michael & ask if we could get some, of course, he said yeh just get whatever you want. I came back from lunch & kept them in my office, everyone kept coming in here & watching them, they are super cute. 

 

They are called black mallards, we've never had this kind before but hopefully they will do as well as our little chocolate ones we bought last year.

 

 

Easter party at work

So my brother & I have to take a traditional Easter pic every year when we do the egg hunt at work. He's never thrilled about pics but I'm glad he will take one with me.

Special Kids Run

This was my third year running the Special Kids Run, it's a great flat run but I was super excited to have Michael running it with me. It's for a great cause & is perfect for training for the half. I was pretty thrilled with our time especially since Michael's knees & hip was starting to bother him.

I went to pick up our packets on Friday, excited to not only get a tshirt but we got hats too.

 

 

Before the run it was freezing cold, the wind was blowing like crazy. I think when we started it was around 32 but the wind made it feel colder.

After the run & I still got a smile out of him :)

During the run, I was so proud of him!!

 

Clearance score

I was super excited to find these little boy clothes on sale. These will go in the stash that will go to Vanderbilt Hospital at the end of the year. I found the jogging pants for $3, the Spiderman shirt for $3 but the other shirts were either $1 or $.58. The guy at the checkout couldn't believe they were only $.58 & he had no idea why they were ringing up that when they had $1 clearance sticker on them. I wished I would have bought more of the $.58 ones but I didn't have time to go back there & get more.

Critters

I like almost all little critters, we've always enjoyed watching birds, rabbits, coons & all sorts of wildlife, however, I do NOT like snakes at all. Last night while I'm pouring Borax & cornmeal on the ant piles around our porch I saw this little critter moving around.

Michael was at work so I called Levi, he was like I will be right there. This is a child who hates spiders but loves snakes. I ask him to kill & his reply was "really? Can't we just turn it lose somewhere away from the house" so I said yeh I guess, thinking the entire time that it will probably come back eewwww.

I'm sure there is a larger moma somewhere around our house but I truly hope I don't see it. Levi said this is a chicken snake & it's harmless, I don't really care I don't like any of them LOL

Sunset

I love the fact that we can watch the sunset from our back porch, this morning was simply gorgeous. #nofilterneeded

Diaper Bag & Burp Cloths

Dominique ask me to make a diaper bag & burp cloths for her friend, Lindsey, for her baby shower for Lucy, I just love that name. I told her to get all the stuff & I would since I didn't know what material she might want to use. I started to panic when I couldn't find my regular pattern.

I really feel like I let someone borrow it & it never got returned. I scoured pinterest until I found one really similar to my "go to" one. I found one that I actually like even better, this free diaper bag pattern I'm planning on using this one again. I changed it up just a little bit though, I only put the pockets on one side of the inner & I didn't use the outside magnetic clip thingy.

I was really starting to panic when I realize I had less than 1 week to get it all done, I'm so thankful to have a great friend who will monogram on the fly for me. I dropped it off on Thurs night & was able to pick it up Sat am.

Dominique did a great job picking out the material, especially since she doesn't sew lol

 

I had Marla do the embroidering for me, I really like the font she used since it was a busy pattern.

Loved the pocket, I used 2 layers of fabric since my was regular cotton material.

I had enough leftover to make the burp cloths from diapers. These are super easy to make & so much fun.

 

Growing baby

My sweet little baby is growing so fast, I wished I could get the video to upload of him jumping around everywhere. He's so fun to watch!

Minor break

We have this little train that comes through town almost daily but very rarely does it effect our drive. I think this was only the 3rd time in 15 yrs that I've had to stop at this crossing, thankfully it was only 6-8 cars lol

Impromtu meeting

Michael & I were out Friday night doing the usual going to TSC, Wal-Mart etc when he decided to go to the Mexican restaurant they normally go to during lunch. I've never been so I didn't care either way.

We walked in to a packed house, not knowing that it was karaoke night lol We immediately saw Steve & Tara already sitting there eating chips & salsa. I tried to get their attention but no luck, didn't even think about texting them, all of a sudden I see Steve holding up his phone.

I go over & they invited us to sit with them. We had a great time ending up staying there for like 3 hours talking, super glad that we accidentally ran into them.

We love watching the sunset & the sunrise. I just happened to look out the window this morning & saw this gorgeous creation going on :)

March Bday

We fixed supper for Margaret & Leroy's birthday since they are with 2 weeks of each other. Here are the pics we took. We had a great visit & the supper wasn't so bad either.

Recycle

I've been a crazy recycling lady for years now, recycling everything I possibly can. It surely saves on the amount of trash we take to the landfill as well as the garbage being hauled off & since I don't have a truck anymore it's hard for me to get it taken off. I may take off 2 bags of garbage a month if that.

We have a recycle drop off location at Walgreens, since I go by there every day twice a day it easy for me to take it. Normally I take at least 3-4 bags about twice a week. I don't take glass that often though, normally I take it off like twice a month depending on if we have any parties.

I love using these feed bags because I can just throw the entire bag away except for the glass one, I usually bring it back home. I can fill it up about 4-5 times before it starts to get all messed up.

My family used to fuss about it but now they just leave everything on the counter & I take it out. I've tried getting them to clean out their cans, bottles or whatever but it never works so I will take them leaving it on the counter lol

There are 2 bins for papers, plastic, metal etc

There is one bin for glass, thankfully we don't have to separate color & clear.
