Music City Marathon

Words can't express the happiness that I had this year running the 1/2 marathon with Michael right by my side. He wasn't at all thrilled to be doing it but I love the entire thing. I can say I got to see a lot more scenery this time around since we walked a lot of it but that was totally alright.

We didn't do as much training as I normally do but the main thing was we completed it. He said he would never do it with me again because he preferred to sit on the side lines & wait for me lol

We were at the expo after getting our pkgs

We both got the medals to prove we finished

Sat night after the run he was super tired so we walked across the street from our hotel & ate at Amerigos instead of going downtown.

Riding

We enjoyed this ride but goodness these people needed to learn how to ride in a group. It was a really different ride but we enjoyed the company of Tara, Steve, Rob & Natasha.

Eugene met up with us & rode to Tara's & Lynchburg then he headed back home.

We rode to Sewane to see the cross then to eat. We've seen this cross from a distance but never up close like this, it's huge & pretty cool.

Baby goats

W are excited to now have Ricky some friends, these are all little girls so hopefully we will have some babies next year.

Mowing

I love to mow the yard, I don't get to do it very often because Michael enjoys it too so we made a deal, I will mow while he does the weedeating. It had gotten fairly tall but this is our first cutting.

Baby ducks

It kind of broke my heart when Michael wanted to turn the ducks out into the pond because I was scared they wasn't big enough to take care of themselves. I do know that mother nature will kick in & we just have to hope they live so we can watch them. These little things are so precious.

We put them in the live trap just to get them to the pond, Michael thought he would put the trap in the pond to see what they did before we released it. It's so funny because they immediately started swimming, they are only about 5 weeks old here.

Here they are right out of the trap swimming into the water.

They acted as if they've been in water before.

Our older ducks wasn't so sure about them.

Bonfire?

Tonight was the most perfect night for a bonfire. We invited friends but it was late before we decided on doing it & Steve was the only one to show up but goodness we had a great time, lots of laughs & conversations.

Mama's car

So before my daddy passed away he asked that I make him some promises so, of course, I said whatever you want me to do. The first was he wanted us to make sure we took care of mama, he knew we would but I think he just wanted to make sure he told us too. He also ask after the house sells that we buy her a car & fix the back porch as a sun room.

The house sold on April 1st so we've been looking for a car every since. She decided that she wanted a Camry but she wanted no part of picking it out, driving it or dealing with the whole deal maker/breaker. Eugene wanted Michael to because he said he wasn't one to try to make them come off the price.

Michael being the wonderful person he is said he didn't mind at all. We've been to a few dealerships but couldn't really find the bargain that we were looking for until I found some on the Toyota of Manchester site. We went over today & found the perfect car, for the price she was wanting to spend. We went over her budget just a little but we got a great deal.

She was super excited to get a 2015, White Pearl with 18500 miles on it. She's never had anything this new before, daddy always bought him new stuff but this is a first for her. She's excited about it & so far has been enjoying it.

We did kid her several times about what we were buying so before we showed her this car, we took her to a sky blue Ford Hybrid & told her that's the one she bought. She wasn't thrilled about it but was going to take it since that's what we picked out. Then we took her to this one & she was super excited that it was exactly what she wanted. Love her to pieces!!

Friends

Several years ago I was part of a scrapbooking website called Lifetime Moments, I, as well as others created friendships even though we hadn't met in real life we still considered each other friends. Last year when we rode the bike to Louisiana I contacted Kari to see if we might could meet up, it worked out perfect & we ended up staying in her town called Sulphur. It was so funny to see that we had so much in common, not just she & I but our husbands did too.

A few weeks ago they contacted us & said they were going to be in Chattanooga & wanted to know if we could meet up. Michael was excited so he replied right away sure that won't be a problem. So this afternoon we took off work at 1:00, it took us about 2 1/2 hrs to get there but we made it safely.

It was as if we've known them for yrs, we sat for about 3 hrs at the restaurant called Sticky Fingers chatting. We then walked over to the Moon Pie store & stood outside there & talked a while longer. I really believe we could have all stayed & chatted longer but we had to drive home & they had to get back to their lodge in Guntersville, AL.

It's just a great feeling to know that we have created lifelong friends all because of a scrapbooking website so many yrs ago.

So I had told Michael before we leave I need to freshen up, when I got home from work he had this sitting out on my bathroom counter. He's such a sweet heart & I fall in love with him more & more everyday!

New baby love

We made it to Murfreesboro to be there while Kimme was having baby Brax, he's super precious & such a big baby. He weighed 8 lbs 6.5 ozs & was 20 1/2" long. Bless her heart she stayed in labor for over 11 hrs, the dr should have not had her come to the hospital so early because they didn't start any meds until 6:30 on Friday am.

We are excited to now have 2 great nieces & 2 great nephews.

This pic was right after he was born, we didn't get to hold him that night because he was having a few minor issues & it was late but we were excited to get to see this sweet little one.

This was Sun morning when they were getting him ready to go home.

He just a precious little one

Michael loves little babies so much!!

Michael, Kimme, Brax & Luke

All ready to go home.

RAK

I love doing random acts of kindness, sometimes it's people I know while other times it's not, sometimes I let people know who it's from & other times I do not depending on the situation.

Yesterday while checking out at Kroger, Pam who has worked there forever loved my necklace. She kept going on & on about it so this morning I bagged it up & dropped it off to her. She was so thrilled, hugged me several times & then told me I made her day. This right there is what it's all about, she was super happy & it gave me such a great feeling to know it made her day.

I don't have a pic of me wearing it so I went under the Plunder catalog & found the pic. It's a gorgeous necklace & goes with everything.

Bow #2

Here is the 2nd bow I was asked to make. It looks pretty was not something I will attempt again unless it's stiffer ribbon or ribbon with a wire. I had to sew & hot glue it together.

April BOM

I was super excited to get to sew this weekend while Michael was working on his motorbike. This is the first time I've gotten my block of the month completed so early in the month. I'm really loving this quilt & can't wait to see it completed.

This month was super easy, I love doing the embroidery but it's a first time for doing a quilt like this. The colors seem to be coming long quite well together too. I'm wishing that I could figure out how to make it larger so I can make it big enough for my bed but that may be a whole different quilt with different colors. I really like having black & white in our bedroom.

Wedding shower wrist corsage

So we were at work talking about how much a corsage costs if you purchase from a florist. Someone at work was saying it would be around $20 so I volunteered to make on for her. I knew I had all the stuff I needed and I never charge them for making stuff around here. I found everything in my stash just another reason to keep all my little "junk" in my stash.

I was pretty thrilled with it & the picture doesn't do it justice because you can't see the black tuelle that's underneath the flowers, even when I brought it to work she said WOW that looks better than the pics. She's always telling me that I should go into business making things for people lol

Updated picture, the flowers a little blurry but at least you can see the black tuelle in this one.

Little Nannies

We were so excited to find out that our neighbors had some baby nannies for sale so we went & looked at them this week. We decided on the 2 smallest ones that they had, Levi & Michael went to get them this afternoon. They were super scared & cried so much.

I hope they get along with Ricky because he's so used to being by himself lol Fred is about 6 mths old & Ethel is 3 months old like Ricky.

We actually named the larger solid brown one Fredricka but we call her Fred & the baby is Ethel.

Michael built this little thing for them to climb up on out of scrap wood.

March BOM

Super excited to have completed the March block of the month even if I didn't get it finished until this morning, better late than never.
