My crazy crazy life lately

Wow what a wild ride my family has recently been on :) We had no idea we were going to actually close on our house and only have one week to pack up & get out. We signed a contract stating they could take possession the day of closing but we didn't find out for sure that it was going to close until Aug 24th giving us a total of 6 days to get completely moved. We are very greatful to have it sold though, it's been on the market on & off for about 2 1/2 yrs now, we knew it would come in God's timing so it was just a matter of praying & keeping the faith.

I had planned several things for the Labor Day weekend without realizing everything would be taking place LOL It was crazy but all in all everything worked out just fine. We ended up having an extra day to move because of some paperwork so we were able to mow the yard & meet the sweet couple that bought it. They were first time home buyers & as excited to move in as we were to move out :)

The first thing I had committed to was telling Angie I would help with Cheyenne's baby shower at church. Thankfully I was able to get everything done in time & really not be too stressed about it. I got the wrist corsage, the guest sign in book, the registry book & the food cooked that I was supposed to bring & honestly I did it all within hours before the shower began lol Yep, I'm that procrastinator.

Dawn did a great job on this little baby :)

Love this girl & it's hard to believe that she had her precious little girl 8 weeks early and a week before the shower, she's already lost all her baby weight.

Then there was Lizzie's 3rd birthday party that I promised I would help with :)

Dominique did a great job decorating her house, as she called it was all "Dorified"

The morning of the party I put together the candy bouquet, baked cupcakes, cooked all sorts of food :)

Love my 2 bald little guys :)

Levi or as Lizzie calls him "Wevi" couldn't wait to go get Suzy so Lizzie could take her first horse ride :)

Bentley was excited to take a ride too lol

Then when I signed up to run the Children's Mercy Hospital 10K & 5K I had no idea we would be selling our house & I wouldn't have time to do any training, whatsoever, for 2 weeks prior. However, I managed to run the 10K in a shorter time than my previous 10K so I was pretty excited about that :) I ended up walking the majority of the 5K with my friend Summer because she's the one that ask me to join her in both so my time wasn't so great for it but still I completed 9 1/2 miles without any training :)

This was Eugene's first ever marathon & I'm so proud of him for completing the entire 9 1/2 miles ahead of me on both the 10K & 5K

My wonderful photographing husband lol

Yep, we had just finished the 10K

Things have slowed down just a bit for us & we are so thankful to be able to live at my parent's house while we are building, they are never home, we are in & out and actually in the last week we've only seen each other in passing. We all know this is a temporary solution and we are excited about getting to build a house at our farm where everyone feels like that is our "HOME"

Autism Ride

We were so excited when we arrive at our meeting location that all our friends showed up to support our nephew Jake in the Parents Act Autism Ride. We had 10 bikes from Chapel Hill & 2 bikes that met us in Shelbyville. It's a great cause & something that is very dear to our heart!

The pic I took at Jake's bday party, we sported that pic for the rest of the day :)

Quilt Block of the Month

I can officially say that I'm finally caught up with all the blocks and the proof is below :) I'm loving every single one of these & have learned so much by participating. This one is actually Levi's quilt so that's why all the blues, browns & blacks. He loves it & is always wanting to see each square when I'm finished with it.

Sewing kind of weekend

We had tons of things going on this weekend but in the midst of it all I managed to finish up Levi's last square for the quilt block of the month for Aug, finished sewing all the Shaeffer Oil patches on Michael's work shirts and make these adorable dresses for my friend Christy. She sent me the shirts & the material, after making the first one I realized just how super easy they are to make. I can see me making more of these to donate to this wonderful cause.

Here's the pattern if you are interested in making one or two of these Gorgeous dress :)

I really wished I had a little girl to model for me but I don't LOL

This is the sweet girl that I made these dresses for :)

Our boys

It's hard to believe that I'm an official mama to a senior & sophomore. Where in the world has the time gone?

We've seen lots of things go on this summer with Levi and the way he has handled them have been such a blessing. He's turning into quiet the young adult & watching the transformation is awesome. It's wonderful to have so many people call or walk up to us & tell us how proud they are of him. Honestly he's said & done things in a way that I would never imagine but knowing that he's leaning on God just makes the answers so clear to us. It just makes me so proud that he's our son :)

Levi 17 years old

Triston has matured a lot the last year too and seeing how well he's done with Michael working at the shop is simply amazing. He's taken on responsibilites at the house too, well except for cleaning his room LOL He's still the loving & caring son that he's always been & it warms my heart that he will still just walk up & hug me for no apparent reason :) So proud of this young man who will always be my baby :)

Triston 15 yrs old

There are lots of exciting things happening in the Newman household & lots of prayers being answered. It's amazing to sit back & watch God work in our lives :)

Sewing

There have been lots of sewing projects going on lately mainly because it's been too hot to be outside & because they need to be done. We have a really good friend that has been doing some embroidery work for us & she did a great job with these patches.

Michael's new shirts with the Schaeffer patch

He had lots of long sleeve shirts & decided he only wanted short sleeves so I cut them off for him.
