Taking sides?

I had a conversation with someone just this weekend about "taking sides". If you know me at all you know that I'm not one to take sides. It's just not me! Whether it's a couple going through marital issues, divorce or a family situation, there's always two people involved in the situation therefore there are two sides to it. Everyone feels like they are the "right" person when they are dealing with it, even though they may be right at the time, I just can't find it in me to "take sides". I've always tried to be the neutral one.

I'm talking to someone about it this morning & they said that's one of the things they admired about me was that I didn't always take their side. I may agree with them & their feelings at that time but I still try to be neutral about the entire situation.

I guess that comment came as a surprise to me & it's been bothering more than ever. It's something I prayed about last night & again this morning. As I'm doing a Bible study this morning the following verses were shown to me, there were several other ones but these two really spoke to my heart. I'm going to continue to pray about this situation & this person.

Matthew 7:1 - 7:5
James 4:11 - 4:12
11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of [his] brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
12 There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
