Service projects

I never realized until my wonderful friend Christy informed me that I was always doing service projects, so I decided to list a few different things that I have done over the last couple of weeks as a reminder to myself.

I've been working on some felt food for a distant cousin that is adopting a little boy from Africa. Check out her amazing blog & her etsy store http://johnamandaandkids.blogspot.com/. I was able to meet her husband and give him the box of goodies that I had been working on for a few weeks. She was going to be working a craft fair, unfortunately it rained tons so it made it a little difficult but overall she was happy with the amt of money she raised.

Couponing gives me the ability to help others in need, a dear friend has been going through a tough time right now so we gathered up a few toiletries & cleaning supplies and delivered them. She was very thankful to receive them.

Dominique was going to the beach, this was a first trip for Lizzie, I ask her if they had a beach bag & she said no. I decided I would fix her up so I bought her a beach bag, beach towels, snacks, sunscreen & tylenol, went ahead & put some ziploc bags in there for her camera & phone. Then we had beach toys that our boys had outgrown so I got another bag for her toys. I forgot to take a pic of her goodies :(  She fixed supper for us on Thursday night so we dropped off the bags. She was so thankful that we were doing that for her that she bought us this candy bouquet. It's really too yummy to take apart lol

My wonderful friend Christy is adopting from Ethiopia check out her blog here http://www.davisfamilymoments.blogspot.com/ She sold another pillow case with Africa symbol in pink so I got it all sewn on & taken to the PO.

The purple stitch program is something I learned about on the quilt block of the month that I'm doing, here is their website http://purplestitchproject.org/ I found several skeins of purple yarn in my stash so I was able to make the following 4 scarves, 2 little dudes & 2 ponchos. I'm excited to get those mailed out this week too.
